Tire technology has come a long way in the last 30 years, and along with it, the tire market has pretty well exploded. There’s a staggering number of choices out there when it comes to tires, for just about any kind of vehicle. Let’s break it down a little:All Season Tires in Atlanta GA

--All-season tires are a great choice for most drivers of sedans, coupes, minivans, SUVs, and crossovers. All-season tires offer a good ride, long wear, responsive handling and excellent road manners. The tread pattern on all-season tires is designed for excellent traction on wet or dry pavement, although they tend to lose their composure in light snow or ice.

--Performance all-season tires come with a higher speed rating and usually have better cornering performance and steering response than all-season passenger tires; however, the tradeoff is in a softer tread compound that doesn’t wear as long.

--Ultra-high performance (UHP) tires are great for sports cars and performance sedans, with a super-sticky tread compound for cornering ability.

--All-season and all-terrain truck tires are a good choice for pickups and SUVs. They’re designed for heavier load capacity along with a smooth, quiet ride on the highway and good handling. All-terrain tires, like the name implies, are well suited for the occasional trip off the pavement, but can’t get you through thick mud or soft surfaces very well.

--Winter/snow tires use a softer tread formulation that stays flexible at cold temperatures, along with deeper tread grooves and a dense network of sipes for extra grip in snow. Winter tires can get you through the cold months better than all-season tires can…however, their soft rubber compound wears quickly in warmer temps. Winter tires shouldn’t be used when temperatures are above 45 degrees or so.
